Traffic management in Pakistan has gone firmly digital. With the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) and regional traffic police deploying extensive camera networks across major cities, traffic violations are now recorded automatically. Jumping a red light, speeding, or violating lane discipline no longer just results in a physical ticket from a warden; a digital e-challan is automatically generated against your vehicle’s registration number and sent to your registered address. Ignoring these fines is a massive risk—unpaid e-challans can lead to your vehicle being impounded or block your ability to pay your annual token tax. How to Check and Pay Your E-Challan Online

Before you can pay, you need to verify if you actually have an outstanding fine and generate your payment reference.

1.Visit the Official Portal:

Open your web browser and go to the official Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) portal at echallan.psca.gop.pk.

2.Input Your Vehicle Information:Enter details exactly as registered.

Type in your Vehicle Registration Number (e.g., ABC-123) and the CNIC of the registered owner. You can also use the chassis number for an additional layer of verification.

3.Locate Your PSID:

Click check. The system will display all pending and paid e-challans along with photographic evidence of the violation. If you have an unpaid fine, note down the 17-digit PSID (Payment Slip ID). This number is mandatory for all digital payment methods.

Paying via Mobile Wallets (Easypaisa & JazzCash)

Because the government’s e-payment gateway runs on the 1Link network, mobile wallets are the fastest way to clear your dues instantly.

Using Easypaisa:

1. Open the Easypaisa app and tap on Bill Payment.
2. Scroll down and select 1Bill / 1Link or the Government/Traffic category.
3. Enter your 17-digit PSID and tap ‘Fetch Bill’. The app will display your exact fine amount and vehicle details.
4. Confirm the details and tap Pay Now. Take a screenshot of the digital receipt for your records.

Using JazzCash:

1. Open the JazzCash app and navigate to Govt Payments or Taxes & Challans.
2. Select the Traffic Challan option (often routed through 1Bill).
3. Input your PSID reference number and proceed.
4. Enter your 4-digit MPIN to authorize the transaction. The payment is instantly updated in the PSCA database.

Paying via Banking Apps and ATMs

If you prefer using your primary bank account (such as HBL, Meezan, UBL, or MCB), the process is just as seamless. Almost all major Pakistani banks support 1Bill integration.

• Mobile Banking App: Log into your bank’s app and navigate to the Bill Payments section. Look for the 1Bill (Invoice / Voucher) option. Type in your PSID. The app will fetch the challan details directly from the government database. Confirm the amount and authorize the payment.
• 1Link ATMs: If you do not have internet banking activated, visit any 1Link-enabled ATM. Insert your debit card, select Bill Payment, choose 1Bill, and punch in your PSID using the keypad. The ATM will dispense a printed receipt confirming your payment.

Once your payment is processed through any of these channels, the status on the PSCA portal generally updates to “Paid” within 30 to 60 minutes.
