Best PHEVs in Pakistan 2025: Haval H6 vs. MG HS (Prices & Specs

PHEVs-in-pakistan

In late 2025, Pakistani drivers are stuck in a dilemma. On one hand, petrol is hovering around PKR 250/liter +, making your Land Cruiser or Fortuner a financial nightmare to run. On the other hand, pure EVs (like the Deepal or Audi e-tron) still give us “Range Anxiety”—especially with the load-shedding we saw this summer and the lack of chargers on the Motorway to Multan. Enter the PHEVs in Pakistan (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). It is the perfect bridge technology. You charge it at home for your daily office commute (costing peanuts), and you use the petrol engine for your long road trips to the North.

Here are the two kings of the Pakistani market right now: the “Best Overall” and the “Most Affordable.”

1. The Heavy Hitter: Haval H6 PHEV

  • Status: The Undisputed King of Range.
  • Current Price (Dec 2025): PKR 12,895,000 (Approx. 1.29 Crore)

If budget is not your primary concern, this is the best crossover in Pakistan, period. Sazgar Engineering has hit a home run with this machine.

  • The Stat That Matters:110km Electric Range. Unlike older hybrids that only give you 2-3km on battery, the Haval H6 has a massive battery pack. Real-world tests in Lahore traffic show it easily does 95-100km on pure electric mode.
    • Translation: If you live in DHA and work on Mall Road, you can go to work and come back twice without a single drop of petrol burning.
  • The Power: It’s not just efficient; it’s fast. With a combined output of 326 HP and 530 Nm torque, it leaves Fortuners and Civics in the dust at traffic lights.
  • Verdict: It costs 1.3 Crore, but it drives like a 2 Crore car. If you want to say goodbye to petrol stations for your city driving, this is the one.

2. The “Affordable” Choice: MG HS PHEV

  • Status: The Budget King.
  • Current Price (Dec 2025): PKR 9,899,000 (Under 1 Crore!)

While “1 Crore” isn’t exactly cheap, in the current hyper-inflation market, the MG HS PHEV is the only proper plug-in SUV you can buy for under 10 million rupees.

  • The Upgrade: The 2025 “Essence” facelift fixed the biggest complaint of the old model: the laggy infotainment screen. The new interface is snappy, and the interior remains the most premium in its class (those “Trophy” red leather seats still look incredible).
  • The Reality Check:
    • Electric Range: ~52km (Official WLTP).
    • Real World: Expect about 40-45km in city traffic.
    • This is less than half of the Haval, but it is still enough for the average Pakistani commute. If your office is 20km away, your daily fuel cost is effectively the price of 5-6 units of electricity (approx. PKR 350) versus PKR 1500+ in petrol.
  • Verdict: It is the best entry point into the EV world. You get the luxury of an MG, the silence of an EV for your commute, and the safety net of a petrol engine for weekends.

PHEVs in Pakistan – Honorable Mention: The New Challenger

  • Jaecoo J7 PHEV: Launched just last month (Nov 2025), this newcomer is priced at PKR 10.5 Million. It sits right between the MG and Haval. It claims a 90km range, but since it’s brand new, parts availability and resale value are still unproven compared to the established MG and Haval networks.

The Final Decision

  • Buy the MG HS PHEV if: You want a premium experience for under 1 Crore and your daily drive is under 40km.
  • Buy the Haval H6 PHEV if: You want pure power, a “forever” electric range for the city, and have the extra 30 lacs to spend.
