If 2025 was the year of “experimental” scripts, 2026 is going back to basics: Star Power. The upcoming slate of dramas is arguably the strongest we have seen in a decade. We are talking about dream pairings (Wahaj & Mahira!), the return of Umera Ahmed, and a Ramadan play that is already trending before a single teaser has dropped. Based on the latest industry buzz, here are the upcoming Pakistani dramas of 2026.
1. Mitti De Baway (The “Blockbuster”)
- Network: Green Entertainment
- Cast: Wahaj Ali, Mahira Khan
- Director: Syed Wajahat Hussain
- Why the Hype: This is the one everyone is waiting for. It marks the first-ever collaboration between the King of TV (Wahaj Ali) and the Queen of Cinema (Mahira Khan).
- The Vibe: Written by Faiza Iftikhar, this is a rural Punjabi saga. Think Heer Maan Ja meets Tere Bin. Expect earthy aesthetics, heavy dialogue, and a chemistry that might break the internet.
2. Zanjeerein (The “Tearjerker”)
- Network: Hum TV
- Cast: Yumna Zaidi, Ameer Gillani, Ahsan Khan, Danyal Zafar
- Writer: Farhat Ishtiaq
- Why the Hype: Farhat Ishtiaq (writer of Humsafar) + Shehzad Kashmiri (director of Parizaad) = Magic.
- The Story: A complex web of love and heartbreak. Fans are particularly excited to see Yumna Zaidi reunite with Ameer Gillani (after Sabaat), but with Ahsan Khan in the mix, expect a tragic love triangle.
3. Humraahi (The “Intense Romance”)
- Network: [Not Specified, likely Geo/Hum]
- Cast: Danish Taimoor, Hiba Bukhari
- Director: Babar Javed
- Why the Hype: Danish Taimoor is the king of “toxic but addictive” heroes. Pairing him with Hiba Bukhari (who is fresh off her Jaan Nisar success) guarantees fireworks. Writer Zanjabeel Asim Shah is known for high-stakes conflict, so prepare for a lot of slapping, shouting, and intense eye contact.
4. Load Wedding (The “Ramadan Special”)
- Network: Hum TV
- Cast: Yumna Zaidi, Hamza Sohail
- Writer: Saima Akram Chaudhry
- Why the Hype: Finally, a fun one! Based on the film of the same name (or at least spiritually), this is the big Ramadan rom-com of 2026. Saima Akram Chaudhry (the queen of Ramadan comedies) penned this, and the fresh pairing of Yumna Zaidi and Hamza Sohail is exactly the chaotic energy we need for Iftar time.
5. Dar e Nijaat (The “Masterpiece”)
- Network: ARY Digital
- Cast: Durefishan Saleem, Sheheryar Munawar, Nameer Khan
- Writer: Umera Ahmed
- Why the Hype: When Umera Ahmed (Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Alif) writes a script, you listen. This drama is expected to be heavy, spiritual, and socially relevant. Durefishan is taking a break from “damsel” roles to play something grittier here.
6. Aik Mohabbat Aur (The “Visual Treat”)
- Network: Green Entertainment
- Cast: Ahad Raza Mir, Maya Ali
- Director: Farooq Rind
- Why the Hype: Ahad Raza Mir returns to TV! Pairing him with Maya Ali is a casting coup. Directed by Farooq Rind (Ishq Murshid), expect this show to look visually stunning—lots of slow-motion shots, great OSTs, and poetic cinema.
7. Tu Jo Mila (The “Emotional Tribute”)
- Network: ARY Digital
- Cast: Yumna Zaidi, Farhan Saeed
- Writer: Saira Raza (Late)
- Why the Hype: This is sentimental. It features the final script written by the late Saira Raza. With Qasim Ali Mureed directing (the man behind Mere Humsafar), this Yumna-Farhan collaboration will likely be a tear-filled journey of healing and love.

The Verdict
2026 is clearly the Year of Yumna Zaidi, with three massive projects on the list. But the industry eyes are fixed on Mitti De Baway—if Mahira and Wahaj click, it could be the biggest drama in Pakistani history.
