Get your jerseys ready and clear your calendars. Pakistan cricket schedule 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest years in Pakistan cricket history.
We have a T20 World Cup in our backyard (well, next door), a controversially rescheduled PSL, and massive red-ball tours of England and the West Indies.
Here is the fully confirmed roadmap for the Shaheens in 2026.
January 2026: The World Cup Warm-Up
The year kicks off with pure T20 prep. The PCB has made it clear: no experiments, just World Cup focus.
- Pakistan Tour of Sri Lanka (Jan 7 – 12):
- 3 T20Is in Dambulla. This is crucial as Sri Lanka is the co-host for the World Cup, so getting used to these pitches is mandatory.
- Pakistan Tour of Australia (Jan 30 – Feb 5):
- 3 T20Is. A quick trip Down Under to test our pace attack against top-tier opposition before flying back to Asia.
February 2026: The Main Event (ICC T20 World Cup)
This is it. The 2026 ICC T20 World Cup is co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Crucial Note: Due to the hybrid model agreement, all of Pakistan’s matches will be played in Sri Lanka. We will not be travelling to India.
Confirmed Group Stage Fixtures:
- Feb 7: vs Netherlands (Colombo)
- Feb 10: vs USA (Colombo) – Revenge match for the 2024 upset?
- Feb 15: PAKISTAN vs INDIA (Colombo) – The biggest match of the year. Sunday night. Block your calendar.
- Feb 18: vs Namibia (Colombo)
March – May 2026: PSL 11 (The New Window)
Here is the controversy. Because the World Cup is in February, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been pushed back.
- Dates: March 26 – May 3, 2026.
- The Clash: This puts PSL 11 in a direct clash with the IPL. This will be a massive test for the PCB—can we attract top foreign players when the IPL auction is happening next door? Expect to see expanded squads (8 teams!) and potentially some new player retention rules to keep our local stars happy.
June 2026: The Rescheduled Aussies
- Australia Tour of Pakistan (ODIs): Originally planned for March, this series was bumped to June to make room for the PSL. It will be a short, sharp 3-match ODI series on home soil.
July – August 2026: The Caribbean Test
- Pakistan Tour of West Indies (July 15 – Aug 7):
- Format: 2 Test Matches.
- Venues: Queen’s Park Oval (Trinidad) and the Brian Lara Academy.
- Context: These are vital World Test Championship (WTC) points. We have a good record in the Caribbean, and this is a “must-win” series if we want to make the WTC Final.
August – September 2026: The Final Frontier (England)
The summer concludes with the most prestigious tour of them all. Beating England in England remains the ultimate test for our red-ball side.
- 1st Test: Aug 19 – 23 (Headingley, Leeds)
- 2nd Test: Aug 27 – 31 (Lord’s, London) – The Home of Cricket.
- 3rd Test: Sept 9 – 13 (Edgbaston, Birmingham)
The Verdict
From the heat of Colombo in February to the swing of Lord’s in August, this year tests Pakistan in every format. The highlight is undoubtedly February 15th—Pakistan vs India.
